Task of the DeaconsThe deacons are responsible for the "service of mercy" to the parish and to the world. The diaconal care is directed exceedingly for seek people, older people, physical and intellectual handicapped people, and people, who get or have social problem's or with financial problems. These care is directed in the first place to the members of the parish, but also nearby on other people in the Netherlands and in the world. So we can speak of deaconate in the parish, internal deaconate and eternal deaconate. The deacons have a command to shout the parish (-members) to mutual care and service. That shout is going out, because our LORD Jesus Christ is former us in giving service and care to other people. The history of the feet washing of John 13 learns us that clearly. |
